Zomedica wanted to create a fully automated digital microscope that would save time by automating the slide preparation process. The goal was to create an all-in-one veterinary microscope that prepares and digitizes hematology and cytology slides for pathologist review in just minutes. The result was a new veterinary microscope design that meets unique pathologist needs.
Kablooe’s Design Solution & Product Strategy
Kablooe saw and acted on opportunities to improve this new veterinary microscope design via the use flow and ergonomics of the TruView device for users. Using our proven D3 Product Development Process, the medical device developers at Kablooe created a design solution that incorporated a rugged, easy to use enclosure and user interface that protects the slides and calibrated mechanisms inside. Our team’s innovation allowed this new pathology device to remain lightweight, easy to carry, and simple to use, yet rugged enough to meet strict IEC 60601-1-12 EMS standards.
Outcomes
Kablooe was able to immensely improve upon the existing product to help produce the only fully automated digital pathologist microscope known today as TruView. This veterinaryt microscope smears, stains, washes, dries and digitizes hematology and cytology slides for pathologist review in mere minutes.
Once the slide is inserted, it will provide a perfect smear, stain and scan from one study to the next so users can focus on the diagnosis.
