Senior Mechanical Engineer

Kablooe Design is currently seeking a dedicated, passionate and talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our research and development team in our Minnesota Office. You will technically lead projects, learn new skills and have fun along the way. We love medical devices and consumer devices, and we hope you do too!

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop new products from initial concept to market release and production.
  • Collaborate with project team to develop requirements and design specifications for applicable standards and procedures.
  • Creative problem solver who can generate multiple solutions to a single problem
  • Self-starter who seeks answers and initiates conversations with outside vendors
  • Possesses an analytical mindset and solves problems with a keen eye toward causal relationships
  • Detail oriented and able to manage needs across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Broadly knowledgeable in design rules for primary and secondary manufacturing methods; injection molding, machining, casting, 3D printing & finishing
  • Deep understanding of polymers, elastomers, and metals, and their uses within medical devices
  • Proficient in SolidWorks modeling techniques following best practices for robust models
  • Expert in 3D printing techniques and technologies
  • Proficient building functional prototypes with standard hand and power tools
  • Ability to design custom machine elements and mechanisms using standard engineering equations
  • Experience with linear Finite Element Analysis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5-8 years of professional work experience.
  • Experience with medical device design including knowledge of FDA regulatory requirements and preclinical studies, etc.
  • Expert-level SolidWorks modeling experience designing products and components for manufacturing.

Systems Engineer

The Kablooe Design team is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our innovative and motivated crew. We help companies make products that people love through our research, design and development for medical and consumer products. Our daily goal is to improve lives through innovation and user adoption; We aim to turn great ideas into great products — and we need your help. The ideal candidate will eagerly jump on board with our mission to help our clients get results through our product research design and development process.

The Systems Engineer will make meaningful contributions throughout our Design Driven Development Process by owning the technology being used. Your advanced analytical, planning, configuration, and design skills will aid in our products being the best option for our clients. It is essential that you have the ability to communicate complex information to technical and nontechnical users. Having an existing knowledge of the development process – including specific documentation and quality assurance and familiarity with firmware and software is ideal. The candidate must be a creative problem solver with a diverse skill set and should enjoy working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment – oh, and enjoy ping pong, foosball & milkshakes.

Our studio is located in the northern suburbs of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Develop, maintain and support technical infrastructure, hardware and system software components as they relate to client projects
  • Translate research results into objective and actionable design direction.
  • Work closely with engineering professionals within the company to direct and maintain electrical, hardware and embedded software needs for projects to be completed efficiently
  • Support the development and refinement of standard operating procedures, with close connection to the product design & development process to comply with applicable quality management systems, standards and regulatory guidance.
  • Develop close working relationships with new and existing customers

The Experience You Will Bring

  • 8+ years industry experience
  • Medical device experience
  • Abilities in Altium, C++, LabView
  • Experience with IoT, bLe, wireless, electrical engineering, embedded software, and pcb design.
  • Self-directed and able to work effectively within a team environment.

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
