Mind-Body Trauma Care: Cultivating a Sense of Collective Winter Warmth

December 16, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The year 2020 has been marked by a constellation of transformative events, to say the least. As we approach the winter solstice and the transition to a new year, we want to acknowledge the impacts that this year has had on our mind, body, intraconnectedness, and interconnectedness. Our community, the earth on which we live, has felt shocks of collective trauma. Together, may our bodies heal and cultivate a sense of collective winter warmth during the forthcoming months.

This webinar hopes to create space to feel into this present state of all of ourselves and learn different ways of doing so. Dr. Viann Nguyen-Feng, assistant professor of psychology and director of the Mind-Body Trauma Care Lab in Duluth, will discuss grounding and coping strategies unique to this time period. These strategies aim to nourish our mind-body connections and specifically focus on building warmth within ourselves. For these practices, there are no resources required aside from your mind, body, and presence.
