Consumer Case Study:
Jasper & Black “Click Clip”
With stainless steel refrigerator fronts, and other non-magnetic surfaces, Jasper & Black recognized a need for a product to hold pictures, notes, etc. They had access to a proprietary adhesive, but could not find the unique clipping method they desired. They wanted a product that would click when something is attached or unattached, could be used over and over, would encourage creative uses and allow for a broad range of graphic design option.
They presented Kablooe Design with the product requirements, samples of the competitive products, and a portfolio of applicable patents. It was left to Kablooe to create the solution.
After exploring a variety of concept directions, the mushroom served as a focus in the design process. Multiple designs where created with product requirements and manufacturability in mind. The end result is the “Click Clip”.
Jasper & Black featured the “Click Clip” at the 2011 International Home and Housewares Show. It received a lot of attention including a video segment by Core 77. A patent is being filed for the design mechanism.
